Welcome
The Quilt Gal evolved into a business in 1997 so that I could sell wearable and other quilted items. Shortly after, experimentation with a variety of hand dyed fabrics using Pebeo Setacolor (transparent) fabric paints, Procion dyes, and natural dyes. Texas is a great place to find all kinds of plants and other naturally occurring materials (Cochinea bugs) readily available to make a variety of natural dyed products. Later, using wax and Tjaps (copper design tools) for batik, then marbling paint to design fabric.
Now, I sell those items that I found difficult to find, but necessary to a variety of different quilting pursuits and replacement parts for Singer 221 Featherweight sewing machines. New items are added regularly!
I usually offer a discounted price and it is often the best price available online! International shipping cost varies so much depending upon where it is going. So, if you want your purchase shipped outside of the US, email me to request shipping cost prior to ordering. If you order first, I will contact you with an estimate prior to shipping. This is an online store that you can shop 24/7 and, currently, not a brick and mortar location that you can visit and shop. I also do quilt shows and the schedule will be available for upcoming shows.
Recently discovered that a number of the new books still in stock have recently become 'out of print'! So if looking for some of these popular books that now are no longer being printed-take a look!
A note about hand dyed fabrics: each piece is handled individually and is unique! There will be color variation throughout the piece. This is intentional! Where possible, I will include a picture showing the entire piece to better show the color variation available. The actual color that you see maybe due to your computer monitor and is beyond my control. Return policy: As each fabric item is unique, return requests due to a specific color or the variation of color will not be authorized. Each item is examined prior to shipping to ensure there is no hidden damage or defect for fabrics, cheesecloth, or any of the other items.
Contact me by email (kathleen@thequiltgal.com) if there is a concern with your order after it has arrived and been examined. Thank you!
