The Quilt Gal evolved into a business in 1997 so that I could sell wearable and other quilted items. Shortly after, I added a variety of hand dyed fabrics using Pebeo Setacolor (transparent) fabric paints, Procion dyes, and natural dyes. Texas is great place to find all kinds of plants and other naturally occuring materials (Cochinea bugs) readily available to make a variety of natural dyed products.
A couple of years later, I expanded from selling the fabrics that I dyed to teaching the techniques used to produce the dyed fabrics. More recently, I have been adding batiking as well as marbling fabrics.
Now, I stock items for crazy quilting, art quilts, landscape quilts and replacement parts for Singer 221 Featherweight sewing machines. Basically, those items that I found difficult to find, but necessary to a variety of different quilting pursuits. I am working on adding items for making cloth art dolls.
This is an online store that you can shop 24/7 and, currently, not a brick and mortar location that you can visit and shop.
